Ace kan beskådas på omslaget och i diverse musikvideos, men spelar inte en ton på albumet. Förutom Paul, så spelar Vincent Cusano (senare känd som Vinnie Vincent), Bob Kulick, Adam Mitchell (*) och Steve Ferris (*) gitarr på skivan. Paul spelar bas i "creatures of the night". Eric Carr spelar bas i "i still love you". "Creatures" återutgavs med ett nytt omslag 1985. Bruce, som inte spelar på skivan, kan beskådas på bilden. Bryan Adams har varit med och skrivit "rock and roll hell" och "war machine". Eric Carr och Bryan skrev också en låt, som sedemera hamnade på förstnämndas album "cuts like a knife". "Rock and roll hell" är i grund och botten en cover! Versen är omarbetad, men Bachman Turner Overdrives refräng och titel finns kvar.
Creatures of the night had 2 very different covers. The 1st was a shot of Paul´s, Gene´s, Ace´s, and Eric Carr´s faces in makeup, with a blue background. This cover was used for the first 2 pressings, and you can tell the difference between the 2 covers, because the 1st pressing has the number 501 printed on the upper right corner of the back cover, and the 2nd pressing has a UPC sticker on the cover. The 2nd cover, used for the 3rd pressing in 1985, was a non-makeup photo of Gene, Paul, Eric Carr, and Bruce Kulick, with an orange background. The 3rd pressing (2nd cover) has the UPC symbol printed right on the cover. The inner sleeves of the 1st and 2nd pressing were a black paper sleeve with the lyrics printed in white. Inner sleeves used for the 3rd pressing were either a clear plastic sleeve or a paper sleeve similar to the one in the original pressing.
